Enquiry about seat availability

1. If the website shows that there is no seat available for the test I want to register, how can I do? Can I still have the opportunity?

If the website shows that there is no seat available, it only means there is no seat available at that moment. We suggest that you often log on our website to check the seat information. For some candidates who have registered the tests successfully, if they reschedule or cancel their tests, these seats will be released.  Or we suggest you choose another test date or test center.

NEEA still continues to coordinate with ETS about increasing the test times, the number of test centers and the capability of test centers in order to satisfy the demand of registration for TOEFL candidates.

2. I have registered the test successfully, but why there is no registration number?

Within the period of a large number of seats open to the candidates, the website is so busy that registration system can not immediately transfer candidate registration data to ETS; however, this delay will not influence your test. Please not wait for the registration number online. Please check it on the website about 15 days before your test date to make sure the ETS registration number is available.

3. I have filled in wrong information in the registration system, how can I change it?

Name (Chinese and English), Gender, Identification type, Identification number and Birth date will be used in your TOEFL test. Please note that when you are in the process of registering a NEEA ID, you must make sure exactness. After you click “submit” button, you can not change them by yourself. If you have filled in wrong information, such as misspelling, please log on the following website: http://toefl.etest.net.cn/en/Information?page=Download

And then download the correction request form and fill in this form and fax to 010-62798822-1-3 or 010-82520250. After you fax, please contact NEEA Call center 10 minutes later to make sure whether we have received it. If your request has been verified, you can log in to your online profile on the next business day to check whether the information you apply for changing is correct and to re-print the confirmation letter.

4. I have not paid for the test fee or I have already paid, but my TOEFL ACCOUNT still show “I do not have enough money”, could I register the test before NEEA will receive my payment?

Your test fee must be paid and confirmed in your profile before you can register.

5. I forget my NEEA ID and Password, how can I find it out?

Please log on the homepage of the registration website; click the button “user assistance” or “password assistance” to find out your NEEA ID or password.

If you can not find out your NEEA ID or PASSWORD by yourself, please contact NEEA call center for help. We will check with you three information which you have filled in the registration system. If we make sure all the information and the email address you provide are the same as these you have filled in the registration system, we will send the NEEA ID and your password to the email address you have filled in the registration system.

6. What rule should I obey in setting the password?

Passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters in length. The maximum is 16 characters. For added security, they must also contain three of the following four character categories:

·   English uppercase characters (A through Z)

·   English lowercase characters (a through z)

·   Numeric characters (0 through 9)

·   Special characters (for example, !, $, #, %)

Examples of allowable passwords are:

·   Urt#5489

·   RT@GR125

·   UIrty452

·   H!tTh3M@rK

Your password is case-sensitive. For example, "H!tTh3M@rK" is not equal to "h!TtH3m@Rk".
Only English characters are allowed and your password cannot contain your user name, first/given name, or last/family name.

7. How to apply for the additional score reports online?

After you finish the test you can order additional score reports for a fee of RMB136/each institution. You can access this service by clicking VIEW ORDER at MY HOME PAGE. Your additional score report must be paid and confirmed in your profile before you can fill in the recipient information.  Also, please make sure you have correct information about the institutions you want your score reports to be sent. Reports are mailed approximately 4 to 7 days after your request.

8After the test day, when will I receive the test report, and how to pick it up?

Scores are posted on the NEEA/TOEFL iBT registration website 15 business days after the test date (with a few exceptions) and then mailed to NEEA for distribution to centers. Candidates can go to the test center to pick up the score reports or pay mailing fee to the test center.

9Can I fill in the 4 score recipients free of charge on the website after I successfully register the test?

4 free score report recipients can be added or deleted through the NEEA/TOEFL iBT registration website until 10 p.m. (local test center time) on the day prior to the test date.

10Why the website shows error after I fill in the recipient code?

Please use the connection our website provides to choose Recipient code. If you can not find the relevant code in it, please fill in the correct address in the Address column.

11If I plan to pay online, which bank can I choose? Could you tell me whether there are other Payment methods?

If you choose online payment, we accept CMB online payment (phone number is 95555) and ICBC (phone number is 95588).  In addition, candidates can also pay through wire transfer; that is to say, you can go to any bank office (regardless of the name of the bank) to do the wire transfer.

12I have paid for the test fee, but why I still can not register the test on the website?

For online payment, normally, the NEEA TOEFL iBT registration system will instantly receive your payment confirmation. However, there might be rare circumstances when the banking system delays your payment confirmation with NEEA TOEFL iBT registration system or you close the browser at bank secured page. Please check the NEEA TOEFL iBT web site one day later to view your payment in MY HOME PAGE. If you still do not see confirmation of your payment, call the NEEA call center for help.

For wire transfer payment: we can receive your payment for 3 to 5 business days.  Please log on your homepage to check your balance at least 2 business days after the day of your payment.  If you still can not see the confirmation of your payment more than 5 business days after your payment, please contact the NEEA call center for help,

13I have some balance in my TOEFL account; can I leave them in it?

Yes, you can. If you apply for refund and if your refund needs handling by post office, 1%corresponding handling fee will be deducted from your refund by post office. In addition, you can receive the refund more or less1.5 months. If you plan to take the test later or want to apply for other services, we suggest that you leave balance in TOEFL ACCOUNT so that you can use later.

14How to apply for the refund?

If you have paid for the test fee but still have not registered the test successfully or your TOEFL account still has balance, you can apply for refund at any time. Please log on the following website http://toefl.etest.net.cn/en/Information?page=Download  to download the Refund Request Form, fill in it and fax us. If you fax us the form, please contact us ten minutes later after fax to make sure whether we receive it.

If you pay through ICBC or CMB online payment, you can apply for refunding to your original online payment card. But if the payment via ICBC or CMB online is over 1 year, your refund will only be handled by post office and sent to the address you provide in the form.

Both refund methods need about 1.5 months.

15I have already paid through wire transfer, but when I click the button “wire transfer”, I see different account numbers, will it influence my payment?

No, it will not influence your payment. The first 18 numbers of the remittance account number is payee account numbers, and do not change, and the last 6 numbers of the remittance account numbers are the candidates’ payment numbers, and are used to distinguish the candidates’ payment. Different candidates have different payment numbers. After we receive the payment data from the bank, we will use the payment numbers to distinguish candidates. So please make sure the 24 numbers are all correct and do not lose any number. In addition, every time you click the button “wire transfer”, the payment numbers change, but it will not influence your payment. The payment number can not be used repeatedly, every time you decide to pay through wire transfer, please log on the website to get a new one.

On test day

16Whether I can receive a paper confirmation letter after registering the test successfully?

Toefl test do not provide paper confirmation letter. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address immediately after your have registered test successfully.

If you do not receive this email, please use your NEEA ID and PASSWORD to log on NEEA website. On your homepage please click the button “view orders” and then click “view and print” to get the confirmation letter.

17What to Bring on Test Day?

1.Valid identification: Please bring the valid identification(s) which is (are) in accordance with ETS requirement for documents.

2. ETS Registration Number: When you register the test successfully, please go to the website to clickview orders” to get your ETS Registration number.

18Can I do the simulated practice and make my practice scored?

Please visit ETS official website http://toeflpractice.ets.org/, and purchase TOEFL Practice Online provided by the ETS. This simulated practice provides authentic test questions and after you finish the test, you can get instant score. Through doing the practice, you can have the experience of taking the real TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT).

19Whether TOEFL iBT test provides other practices?

When you register test successfully, you can get a free TOEFL iBT Sampler. Please log in to your profile and enter “view order”, you can see the free Sampler. You can do the Sampler only once and you can only do it before its expiration date. In addition, candidates can enter the TOEFL global official website www.ets.org/toefl anytime, click the “Test Preparation” or “Test Content”, and then you can scan the TOEFL iBT test presentation and download authentic test questions: including reading, listening, speaking and writing. The authentic test questions that can be downloading include the following contents:

l        Reading: 14 questions for a short passage and references (no score for this part)

l        Listening: 11 questions for a conversation or a course of lecture and references (no score for this part)

l        Speaking: read 6 questions and relevant examples and see the score criterion

l        Writing: read 2 questions and relevant writing examples.
