Frequently Asked Questions

1. What If the website shows that there is no seat available for the test I want to register?

“No seat available” means there is no seat available at the moment. We suggest that you often access our website to pay attention to seat information. If some of the candidates who have registered to test reschedule or cancel their tests, these seats will be released.  Or we suggest you choose another test date or test center.

NEEA will continue to coordinate with ETS about increasing the test times, the number and capability of test centers in order to satisfy the demand of registration for TOEFL candidates.


Registration number question

2. I have registered for a test, but I cannot see my registration number. Why?

During the period of a large number of seats open to the candidates, the website is so busy that the registration system cannot immediately transfer candidate registration data to ETS; however, this delay will not influence your test. Please not wait for the registration number online. You can access the registration website about 15 days before your test date to make sure ETS registration number.


3. I have filled in wrong information in the registration system, how can I change it?

Your name (Chinese and English), Gender, ID type, ID number and Date of Birth will be used in your TOEFL test. Please confirm all the above information you submit is available, true and accurate.  After you click on the “submit” button, you cannot change them by yourself. If you have filled in wrong information, such as misspelling, please access the following website: http://toefl.etest.net.cn/cn/Information?page=Download to download the correction request form. Fill out this form and fax it to 010-82345672-1-3 or 010-61957800.Please contact us ten minutes later after you send it to make sure whether we receive your refund request form.  Once your request is verified, you may return to your profile the next business day to check whether the information you want to be changed is changed.


4. Can I register for a test before paying for the test fee?

Your test fee must be paid and confirmed in your profile before you can register.


5. How soon can I re-take the test?

You may re-take the test as many times as you wish. You must wait at least 12 days after you take the exam before you can take it again.


6. I forgot my user name and password. What should I do?

Please access the homepage in the registration website and then click the “user assistance” or “password assistance” link and follow the instructions provided on the screen. If you cannot find out your NEEA ID or PASSWORD by yourself, please contact NEEA call center for help. We will check three items or above of your personal information with you which you filled in when you registered. If your information is verified, we will send your NEEA ID or password to your registered email address.


7. What rule should I obey in setting the password?

Passwords must: be between 8 and 16 characters

Also, for security reasons, passwords must contain at least three sorts of the following four character categories:

English uppercase letters (A - Z),  

English lower case letters (a - z)

Numbers (0 -9)

Special characters (for example, !, $, #, %)

Examples of allowable passwords are:

   Urt#5489

   RT@GR125

   UIrty452

   H!tTh3M@rK

Your password is case-sensitive. For example, “H!tTh3M@rK" is not equal to "h!TtH3m@Rk".
Only English characters are allowed and your password cannot contain your user name, first/given name, or last/family name.


Score Reporting Questions

8. How do I order additional score reports online?

You may order additional official score reports for a fee of RMB 134/each institution after finishing the test. Once you log in to the system and get to your home page, click on the “VIEW ORDER(s) link". Select the “Request an additional score recipient" button. Reports are mailed approximately 4 to 7 days after your request by ETS.


9When will I receive my official score report? How to pick it up?

Your score will be displayed in your personal profile on the NEEA/TOEFL iBT Registration website in about 15 business days (with few exceptions) after the test day. Printed copies will be mailed via express mail service to the address you submitted during registration. The tracking number of the score report shipment will be displayed in your profile.


10Will I fill in four free score recipients after I have registered to test?

Four free score report recipients can be added or deleted through the NEEA/TOEFL iBT registration website until 10 p.m. (local test center time) on the day prior to the test date. You will not be allowed to change four score report recipients after the 10 p.m. deadline. If you select your recipients after the 10 p.m. deadline, you will be charged a fee of RMB134 for each score report. If you have already selected your recipients, your test cannot be rescored.


11The website showed error after I entered score report recipient codes. Why?

Please use the link our website provides to choose Recipient codes. If you cannot find the relevant codes, please contact NEEA’s TOEFL iBT call center at 8610-82345672.


12Can I pay an additional fee to have my score reports delivered earlier, by courier service as UPS or DHL?

An expedited score report service is not offered at this time.


Payment Questions


13How can I pay my TOEFL test fees?

There are two ways to pay the test fee:
1. PayEase
2. Alipay
You need to have an account of PayEase or Alipay. to register an account of Payease or Alipay, please contact the service hotline of PayEase or Alipay. 14I have paid for the test fee, but I cannot register to test on the website. Why?

Normally, your payment can appear in your profile in less than half an hour.  If your payment is not confirmed in your profile one business day later after you pay the test fee, contact the Call Center for help.


15Can I leave fees in my TOEFL account?

If you cancelled your registration or did not reschedule after you paid reschedule fee, you may choose 880.5 on the payment page to make up your test fee if you wish to re-register a test. If you do not plan to take the test, the balance can be used to order other services.


16How do I request a refund?

If your TOEFL account has balance, you can request a refund at any time. Please go to the following website http://toefl.etest.net.cn/en/Information?page=Download to download a Refund Request Form. Complete the form and fax it to 010-82345672-1-3 or 010-61957800. After you send fax, please contact us ten minutes later to make sure if we receive your faxed form. Or E-mail to ibtcsr@mail.neea.edu.cn, Please allow 1-2 working days for us to respond. Please note:

1) If you paid online, the refund can be credited back to the original online payment card.
2) If your original payment card cannot receive the refund or it is over one year since you paid, the refund will be sent via bank transfer.
3) Both refund methods need about one month and a half.

17Can I request the invoice for my test?

After the test, you can request the invoice. Please go to the following website http://toefl.etest.net.cn/en/Information?page=Download to download a Invoice Request Form. You can apply for the invoice within one year from the test date onwards. We can only issue an invoice to the name of the candidate. You will receive the invoice about one month later after confirming with NEEA TOEFL iBT Call Center.


On the test day


18Will I receive an admission ticket after I complete the registration procedures?

Printed admission tickets will no longer be mailed to candidates. After you register to test, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration. If you do not receive this e-mail, you can also click on the “view order(s)” button in your homepage and then click “view and print” to view or print the confirmation letter.


19What to Bring to the Test Center on the Test Day?

1. The acceptable and valid identification document(s): Please see “Identification Requirements” on the homepage of the iBT registration website.

2. Your registration number. You can get this number by clicking on the “view order(s)” button in your profile


20What can I do if I have an emergency on the test day?

Please call Test Day Service Hotline at 86-10-61957815 immediately.


21Can I cancel the scores?

At the end of the testing session, you can cancel your scores. If you cancel your scores, they will NOT be reported to you or any institutions. Your test fee will not be refunded.


22Can I reinstate my score?

Canceled scores can be reinstated if your request is received at ETS no later than 10 days after your test date. Reinstated scores are reported online about three weeks after receipt of your request and payment. The fee for reinstatement is RMB 144. Your scores will then be provided to you and your designated institutions.


Preparing for the test

23Can I take practice tests and make my tests scored?

Please visit ETS official website http://toeflpractice.ets.org/, and purchase TOEFL Practice Online provided by ETS.  The TOEFL Practice Online is the only official practice test that gives you the experience of taking the real TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT).  You will be able to answer authentic test questions and get instant scores.


24Does the TOEFL iBT test provide other practices?

After you register for the TOEFL iBT test, you will get the TOEFL iBT Test Sampler that is free. You can access the free Test Sampler from the "view order" link on your online profile. You can take the Sampler only once and must take it before its expiration date. In addition, you can enter the TOEFL global official website www.ets.org/toefl at any time and click the “Test Preparation” or “Test Content” to scan the TOEFL iBT test introduction and download authentic test questions including reading, listening, speaking and writing. The authentic test questions that can be downloaded include the following contents:

l          Reading: a short passage, 14 questions, Answers, no score for this section

l          Listening: a conversation and a lecture, 11 questions together, Answers, no score for this section

l          Speaking: 6 questions and relevant samples, score criterions

l          Writing: 2 questions and writing samples for the questions
